​As Co-Chairs of the 2020 SDAFA Election Committee, Carlynne Allbee and I will be pleased to accept your nomination of yourself or of another person with their agreement by email. The nomination period will be for two week, from Monday October 12th to Friday October 23rd, so please send your nomination in by responding to this message as soon as possible! You may include your candidate statement below, or you may send it in to the SDAFA election committee before Sunday, October 25th.

​Due to the COVID-19 crisis, SDAFA dues have been suspended through the end of the Fall 2020 semester, so that everyone on our membership roster as of October 1st, 2020, will be considered to be “in good standing” and is eligible to run and vote in this year’s election. Each eligible voter shall be permitted, during the balloting period, to cast one vote for selection of the open executive officer seats and with additional votes, one each, for a representative from each college campus at which the member teaches. The casting of ballots will be done online and all members must have a valid and functioning personal email address in order to vote.

There will be a two-week campaign period for all candidates between October 24th and Saturday November 7th. No less than one week before balloting, the SDAFA Elections Committee will distribute to all eligible voters an online list of candidates and candidate statements. The one week for online voting will run from Sunday November 8th through Saturday November 14. Any uncontested positions will be considered filled by acclamation of the membership and will not appear on the ballot. If there are no contested positions, the election will be considered concluded and final after the week of nominations on October 23rd.

The newly elected SDAFA officers will be presented at the SDAFA General Membership ZOOM meeting on Friday November 20th! Save the date! Details will be sent out soon! Board vacancies shall be filled, as needed, at the General Meeting by appointment of the Chair with Board approval.
